IVF method helps 81-year-old man, 46-year-old wife have twins

Madurai,Nov 21(PTI) In vitro fertilisation has helped an 81-year-old man and his wife, 35 years younger to him, to be proud parents of bonny twins. The twins, a boy and girl, were delivered through caesarian section on November 14, Dr Tamarai Selvi of the Balaji IVF clinic, who helped the couple have the babies through IVF method, told reporters here today. The man, Perumalswamy, said he lost his 23-year-old son, through his first wife, in an accident in 2008 and he decided to have a baby through his second wife and had approached the private clinic. His first wife died some years ago. Reproductive specialist Senthamarai Selvi said the babies are in good health.
Perumalswamy was given special treatment for the past one and a half years, doctors said. For the couple, the babies have brought a new meaning to their lives and they are confident of taking care of them despite their age. source: ibnlive.com
